• Integrate observations recorded through iNaturalist. Use taxonomy information for each observation to learn more about the species around you. Build a broad understanding of the other life forms sharing space with you.
• Research plant characteristics and suitability through Permapeople, then build plant communities that will complement each other.
• Consult Wikipedia for more information on the species in your environment.
• See documented ecological relationships from Global Biotic Interactions or add your own from experience and observation. What flowers does this insect depend on? How can I support this pest's predators so that their population is kept in check?
• Build a personal knowledge base of your site and the local organisms. Keep notes, record data, manage tasks. When did I plant that tomato again? Did I prune the fig tree last year? How many beets did I harvest? How much water do the beans need each week?
• Visualize your permaculture system on the map, with:
